Dr. Matsumoto trained at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, where she received the Elisabeth L. Demonchaux Prize in Pediatrics. She then completed her residency at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital serving children with complex medical needs.

Dr. Matsumoto and her family moved to Phoenix in 1996 and she spent the next eight years as a senior partner in a large medical practice. In 2004, she founded TLC Pediatrics and fulfilled her dream of practicing in a small, intimate setting where patient care comes first. Over the years she has seen the practice grow enormously and has been recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a “Top Doc.”

She and her husband, ophthalmologist Dr. Bert Matsumoto, have six children. In her time away from the office, she leads medical trips to Africa and volunteers in medical organizations such as Global Health Outreach, Project Cure, and Feed My Starving Children.
